Concrete toppings

Concrete toppings are becoming more common place in the industry, due to a more customizable finish and the ability to cover heavily pitted, trenched and marred concrete surfaces. The topping masks the existing concrete surface to provide a new one therefore creating a monolithic finish. The topping is installed by first preparing the concrete substrate by mechanical means. Then an epoxy-based primer is applied, and sand is broadcasted onto it to promote adhesion. The topping is then placed at a minimum of 3/8” and metal strips or control joints are then employed to honor existing joints and alleviate cracking. The topping can then be polished, ground and sealed, or just sealed. Contact our professional sales team for more information.
